*Street Law, the Center for Justice’s free legal
consultation service will begin its once a week availability on May 24th in Riverfront Park. The service, a joint project of CFJ and the Spokane County Bar Volunteer Lawyer Program, will run through August 30th, with the exception of June 28th, which is Hoopfest weekend. Lawyers are available from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. For more information on the program and how to participate in it click here.
Mondays beginning June 23rd: Veteran Spokane attorney and CFJ volunteer lawyer Terry Sawyer hosts Radio Law at noon on Thin Air Radio KYRS, FM 89.9 & 92.3.
*September 5th & 6th: The Center for Justice and the Spokane Civic Theatre are partnering to bring The Exonerated to Spokane. The dramatic reading tells the stories of five men and one woman who served from 2 to 22 years on death row. Spokane playwright Bryan Harnetiaux will direct and proceeds will benefit the Center for Justice. To learn more about the project visit this website.
*September 13th, Noon to 8 p.m.: Street fair between Browne and Division Streets on Main Avenue to celebrate the launch of the Main Market Co-op. Food, music, ping pong. That’s right. Ping pong.
*September (date to be determined): The Center for Justice hosts the Second Annual Dirty Martinis for Clean Water at the Saranac Art Project, 25 W. Main Avenue. The event will feature live music and a live and silent auction. Proceeds benefit the Center’s Spokane River Project.
