Spokane Hot Spotters

Spokane Hot Spotters

Did you know that 5% of patients account for 25% of all emergency room visits? Many of these individuals have complex medical, behavioral, and/or chemical dependency issues and are transported to the hospital by first responders 30 to 100 times a year. Not only does this cost a lot of money, it can also increase response times and is not an effective way to make these “super-utilizers” healthier.

The Spokane Hot Spotters Communication Action Organization wraps a broad range of services, including civil legal aid, around super-utilizers with the goals of stability, improved health outcomes, and reduced costs to our community. The video below provides more information about the project and our philosophy.
